1. The Office of Research Integrity (hereinafter
“the Office”) is founded by the National Science and Technology Council (hereinafter “the Council”) to be in charge of academic ethics-related affairs and establish research integrity in the fields of scientific research.
2. Tasks of the Office include:
(1) Research and analyze patterns of academic ethics violations;
(2) Research and develop policies and measures for academic ethics;
(3) Organize academic ethics education and
counseling and respond to inquiries;
(4) Provide support to the handling of cases involving academic ethics violations;
(5) Set up a database for cases involving academic ethics violations;
(6) Coordinate other affairs related to the promotion of research integrity.
3. The Office shall have a director, who
shall be responsible for directing and supervising the Office’s tasks. The director shall be appointed by the Minister of the Council from
appropriate personnel
to serve concurrently.
Staff of the Office shall be assigned from the Council. When necessary, staff can be assigned from agencies or legal persons under the Council, or hired in accordance
with the requirements of tasks on hand.
4. The
expenses of Office shall be provided by the relevant budgets from the Council.
